The 'Coca-Cola Kid' may be about to return. According to the admittedly unreliable Daily Mirror, Colin Kazim-Richards is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs, including Manchester City.

It is hard to imagine the new owners being too enamoured with the prospect of this £4m rated chance-fluffer arriving at Eastlands. Kazim Kazim as he is now known, has never been renowned for goals as 14 golas in 136 career games indicates.

A goal against Chelsea in the Champions League last season pushed him into the public gaze and put a wry smile on the face of Brighton and Hove Albion fans'. £250,000 was made available to the Seagulls to buy a player after a fan won a prize on a coke can. Colin came along but 6 goals in 43 games showed the Withdean faithful that he was unlikely to be the next Bobby Zamora.

Now a regular for Turkey, despite former manager Mark McGhee claiming to have 'no idea' how that could be the case, Kazim Kazim is also playing alongside the likes of Roberto Carlos and Mateja Kezman at club level. Maybe the talk of Kaka to the City of Manchester stadium is just a smokescreen and there will be a Ronaldo-esque struggle in January.

Maybe not. If that was the case Mark Hughes might be looking for a lucky ring-pull himself.
