Ralf Rangnick has waved goodbye to the offer of a consultancy role at Old Trafford and taken the decision to succeed fellow countryman Franco Foda, to make a first step into international management with Austria, rather than staying on with Manchester United following a lukewarm at best spell as caretaker. It's probably safe to say his first order of business from the OFB- or Osterreichischer Fussball-Bund (their FA) will be remarkably similar to the job he's just left, to revive the fortunes of Unsere Burschen (Our Boys) and get them to the major tournaments on some sort of a consistent basis, given their comparative lack of recent success in doing so.

This coming weekend will see the Olympiastadion host the 79th edition of the German cup final. The 2022 DFB-Pokal final is due to be contested by SC Freiburg and RB Leipzig and, whatever happens, this season will see a 1st time winner hoisting that famous goblet-esque trophy above their heads. It will also deliver a 1st major domestic success for either side, so in many ways this match represents a holy grail.

France has a rich footballing heritage, from players and managers to ideas like those of Jules Rimet and his creation of The World Cup. In a managerial sense, France has threatened to produce a so-called ‘high profile manager' since Arsène Wenger, Gérard Houllier or Didier Deschamps. Many will consider Zinedine Zidane as the answer to this question considering the eleven titles he and his Real Madrid side won between 2016 and 2020, however, many would like to see how he fairs in the future as his achievements thus far are anomalous. With that said this article will explain why there is a lack of widely known French managers and who are the possible heirs to the throne of the aforementioned.

Football Away Days- Exeter City and St James Park

With the removal of pandemic-related restrictions and the emergence of the sun, the everyday mood has lifted for a lot of people in the UK. Bearing this in mind, the setting was perfect for our 2nd football away day of the 2021/22 season, as a smaller than usual group made the journey south to visit Exeter City. A team flying near the top of League Two and looking to secure automatic promotion in the slipstream of runaway leaders, and the scene of one of our previous journeys, Forest Green Rovers.
